POSITION SUMMARY:  The staff oncology nurse provides excellent professional nursing care, under the direction of the oncology group physicians and practitioners, to the oncology department patients.

SIGNIFICANT DUTIES:

A.  Patient Care

  1. Assess patients throughout their course of treatment and recovery period establishing appropriate documentation on nursing record.

  2. Start IVs, Access Central lines, and administer medications ordered by the physician; instituting appropriate patient monitoring techniques.

  3. Prepare patients chemotherapy; through education explanation and education.

 

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

  • Must have a valid Registered Nursing license in the state of Oregon.

  • BLS

  • Biotherapy Card

PRINCIPLE JOB DUTIES:

  • Room patients, take vitals and complete patient intake forms.

  • Cross-train in all areas of the front support position.

Job Title:        Endoscopy Technician

Reports To:   Day Surgery Department Manager
Hours:            Full Time w/benefits – Variable Schedule
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Day Surgery Manager the Endoscopy Technician is responsible to work as a team member in the endoscopy suites with both RN’s and physicians, keeping patient safety as the highest priority.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Set up Endoscopy rooms each morning to meet schedule needs

  • Set up Endo dirty room for the days cases

  • Set up carts to begin day complete with scopes

  • Keep track of scopes to ensure availability when needed

  • Assist RN with hooking up patient to monitors

  • Assist RN with explaining procedure to patient

  • Maintain Hipaa compliance

  • Assist physicians with Endoscopy procedures (i.e. colonoscopies, gastroscopies, bronchoscopies)

  • Set up/maintain sterile field

  • Assist physicians with minor surgical procedures

  • Troubleshoot equipment problems as needed

  • Clean and process scopes per procedure

  • Order and put away supplies for all Endoscopy rooms

  • Maintain adequate records as directed

  • Take responsibility for and demonstrate safe work practices

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Excellent communication and attention to detail.

  • Administer injections. (Must have experience giving shots to infants and children).
