POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for front office duties; answering phone, phone triage, appointment scheduling, checking in patients, referrals, patient follow-up and processing of appropriate patient paperwork.

PRINCIPLE JOB DUTIES:
Schedule appointments by phone or in person.
Requires appropriate time allotted for visit.
Greet and check-in patients.
Schedule follow-up appointments and ancillary tests.
Handle patient notifications.
Initial triage of patient.
Process patient referrals, lab requests, etc.
Process prescription refill requests.
Provide support to team members in providing excellent patient care.
Proper processing of patient paperwork/charts.
Demonstrate safe work practices.

Responsible for back office patient care including: preparing exam rooms, taking vitals and patient intake forms, room patients, assist doctor with exams, patient follow-up and processing of appropriate patient paperwork. Perform front desk duties as assigned.

Room patients, take vitals and complete patient intake forms.
Prepare exam rooms.
Cross-train in all areas of the front support position.
Provide support to team members in providing excellent patient care.

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Physical Therapy Manager the receptionist is responsible for the efficient operation of the front desk. Scheduling and greeting patients at the window and on the telephone, interacting with physicians and their office staff on a daily basis.

Principle Responsibilities:
Handle multiple phone lines.
Schedule patients.
Greet patients, verify current information.
Perform data entry and other clerical duties as necessary.
Pull schedules for providers as requested.
Confirm patient appointments, advising of proper check-in procedures.
Reschedule patients as necessary per manager’s request.
Organize displays, take inventory, order supplies as needed.
Obtain prior authorization from insurance companies.
Field patient insurance coverage questions.

Other Responsibilities:
The receptionist must be flexible; able to handle whatever tasks are required of them and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
High School graduate or equivalent
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time, including bending, kneeling.
Ability to maintain strict confidence regarding patients and their care
Ability to multi-task, working effectively amid frequent interruptions and prioritize workload
Ability to work closely with all departments and staff members, receive constructive criticism and adjust accordingly
